Wrap, cushion, immobilise
Every fragile item follows the same three steps: a soft layer against the surface, a cushioning layer for shock, and packing that stops it moving inside the box. Movement is what breaks things, not the journey itself.
Plates stand, glasses stand, bowls nest
Plates survive far better on edge than stacked flat — pressure spreads along the rim instead of across the face. Stemware goes upright in a cell divider. Bowls can nest, but only with paper between each one.
Flat screens and mirrors need boards, not bubbles
Bubble wrap alone will not stop a flex crack. Screens and mirrors need a rigid honeycomb or corrugated board on both faces, corner protectors, and vertical transport with the panel secured against a flat truck wall.
